Kindness Matters

Sales professionals will succeed more quickly when they practice kindness on a regular basis. And, this isn't the easiest thing to do. When you've been rejected for the fifth time that day, it's a challenge to put a smile on your face, pick up the phone and make another call.

I've found myself to be somewhat irritable lately. As a result, I'm quick to temper and tend to frown a lot. I need a restful weekend to recharge my batteries. But, alas, I have work to do.

So, how do you overcome the challenges in your life and stay focused on your mission? Well, first of all, you have to clear your mind. Take a break, listen to music if possible, meditate or just try to cleanse your mind of thoughts. Empty it out, and along with it, your concerns.

Next, think about your dreams, goals and aspirations. Then, count your blessings. Acknowledge that you control your destiny, perhaps with some divine intervention, depending on your beliefs.

This should put you in the right mindset for making a successful contact. Look for an opportunity to help rather than to sell and it may create an opening for you. Good luck!
